PADI Referral Course
Already started your Open Water course elsewhere? Finish your certification in the rich, biodiverse waters of San José del Cabo. The PADI Open Water Referral program is ideal for travelers looking to complete their 4 open water dives on holiday, but who have already completed theory and Confined Water Training.

The Referral Course is designed for students who have already completed their knowledge development and confined water training, typically through a dive shop or academic program. Over two mornings, you’ll join a PADI instructor for four open water dives at our local reef sites in San José del Cabo with the check-in at 8:00 AM. These dives give you the chance to apply your skills in a real ocean environment, under expert supervision. You’ll demonstrate buoyancy control, mask clearing, emergency procedures, and other essential techniques. Once completed, you’ll be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver — with a lifetime certification recognized worldwide.
Course Requirements / Prerequisites
- Must present valid PADI or Universal Referral paperwork with completed confined water and eLearning
- Minimum age: 10 years old
- Must be medically fit for diving
- Referral must be completed within 12 months of initial training
- No need to redo theory or pool sessions
Course Schedule:
Day 1: Open Water dives 1 + 2 from 8:00 – 13:30
Day 2: Open Water dives 3 +4 from 8:00 – 13:30

- Passenger: $50 USD, availability dependent

Prefer one-on-one instruction? Complete your referral dives on a flexible private schedule with your own guide. $560 USD for PADI eLearning Referrals, and $600 USD for non-PADI 'Universal Referrals'.
