Open Water Course
Learn to dive in the warm, clear waters of San José del Cabo. The PADI Open Water Diver course is your gateway to the underwater world — taught by experienced instructors and backed by global certification.

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular entry-level certification — and there’s no better place to learn than the biodiverse, life-filled waters of San José del Cabo. You’ll begin with PADI’s eLearning, which covers dive theory, equipment, and safety. Then, over the course of three days, you’ll complete a confined water session in our custom-built dive pool, followed by four open water dives with one of our experienced PADI instructors. Each session is designed to build confidence step-by-step, from practicing mask clears to perfecting buoyancy and learning controlled descents. All gear is included, and class sizes are kept small to ensure a personal, supportive learning experience.
Course Requirements / Prerequisites
- Must be at least 10 years old
- Must be able to swim and float comfortably
- Completion of PADI Open Water eLearning required before Day 1
- Medically fit for diving (PADI medical form)
- No prior dive experience required
Course Schedule:
Day 1: Pool training from 13:00 – 17:00 at Dive Cabo in Cabo San Lucas
Day 2: Open Water dives 1 + 2 from 8:00 – 13:30 with us here at East Cape Explorers
Day 3: Open Water dives 3 +4 from 8:00 – 13:30 with us here at East Cape Explorers
Deposit & Cancellation Policy:
- A deposit of $250 USD is required to secure your booking.

- Passenger: $50 USD, availability dependent
