This isn’t your average reef dive. Gordo Banks is a submerged seamount located 10 miles off the coast of San José del Cabo, rising from depths of 250ft to about 120ft at its shallowest. It’s a magnet for pelagic life, including schooling hammerhead sharks, silky sharks, tuna, rays, and massive schools of jacks and snapper. After checking in at our dive shop, we’ll brief you on blue water protocols, shark behavior, and safety techniques before heading out on the 40–60 minute ride offshore. Once at the site, you’ll descend into the open ocean for two deep, controlled dives, with time to search and float through the blue. While sightings are never guaranteed, the raw nature of this dive makes every trip thrilling.
Due to the advanced nature of this dive, we require all divers to complete a 2-Tank local dive with us or our sister location Dive Cabo on a day prior to their shark dive tour, to ensure they have the necessary abilities to dive the site safely.

Tour Requirements / Prerequisites
- All divers must complete a 2-tank local dive with us prior to shark trip
- Must be PADI Open Water certified or higher
- Minimum age 18 years old
- Strong buoyancy, air consumption and recent deep dive experience required
- Maximum depth: 130 ft / 40 m
- Divers must be in good physical health and comfortable in blue water
