First time diver? With the Discover Scuba Diving program you are able to dive to a depth of 12m/40ft with no scuba certification. Learn the basics of scuba in the Sea of Cortez where there is plenty to see! With shallow sandy areas and beautiful coral formations, it is the perfect environment for beginner divers.
This region boasts an abundance of marine animals from octopus, moray eels, schools of mobula rays to tiny seahorses and nudibranchs. All of the dive sites are 20 – 45 minute boat ride from the marina and the conditions are usually calm with no or little currents and a calm surface.

Tour Itinerary: Discover Scuba Diving San Jose del Cabo
The “Discover Scuba Diving” program starts at the dive shop where you will meet your dive instructor before getting fitted with all the essential gear. Then a short 15 minute video followed by a detailed orientation on the boat from your instructor on dive procedures, underwater communication and dive skills.
Once at the dive site, we start in very shallow water on a sandy bottom to get used to being underwater and practicing a few skills. Once you complete the skills and feel comfortable you will continue with your instructor to explore the dive site and spot marine life.
On the second dive we don’t do skills and just enjoy the underwater world. After arriving at the dock, your instructor will send you the free photos and videos of your tour! If you’re interested to hear what others think of the tour, please read our reviews on TripAdvisor.
Photography Service
All our professional dive guides and instructors carry underwater action cameras. Though you are of course welcome to bring your own cameras, we will take photos and videos to help capture your experience.
These photos and videos are free of charge – please bring a USB memory stick or iPhone to allow easy data transfer. Be aware that it is not a professional photography service – but you will certainly have some visual memories to take away at the end of the experience!
